This fully embroidered Orthodox Christian epitaphios depicts the sacred Dormition of the Most Holy Theotokos in exquisite detail. Handcrafted for liturgical use during the Feast of the Dormition (August 15th), this shroud portrays the complete scene of the Mother of God lying in repose, surrounded by the Apostles and her Divine Son receiving her soul—a powerful visual testimony to Orthodox theology and tradition.The Dormition shroud is worked in luminous gold-metallic, rayon, and polyester threads upon rich velvet and wool, creating a reverent interplay of texture and light befitting its sacred purpose.
