1 προϊόνThe embroidery is the part that takes the machines, the frames and the years of practice; the sewing-up is the part a parish seamstress or a monastery workshop can do perfectly well. This category is the first half on its own: fully embroidered icon panels, crosses and cut sets, finished and ready to be mounted onto fabric and made up where you are.
It is the least expensive way to a fully embroidered vestment or cover — and the right answer when you want the making itself to stay in the community. Ask us if you need a panel sized to a pattern you already have.
What you receive, and what you do
You receive the embroidery complete: icon panels or crosses worked in metallic and silk thread, edges finished, ready to mount. You supply the brocade and the labour — cutting to your own pattern, mounting the panels, lining, and finishing. Nothing about the embroidery differs from what goes into our finished vestments; it is the same work on the same frames.
Who this is for
- Monastery and parish workshops that sew their own vestments but do not have embroidery capacity.
- Parishes on a budget — removing the tailoring from the price is the single largest saving available on a fully embroidered piece.
- Anyone replacing worn fabric. Embroidered panels outlast the brocade beneath them by decades; a set whose ground has gone can be re-mounted rather than replaced.
Before you order
Tell us the pattern you will be sewing to and the finished dimensions you are working towards, and we will size the panels to suit rather than to a standard. If you are unsure how much fabric a piece takes, ask — we cut these every day and would rather advise first than have you order a panel that does not fit the cloth you have bought.

What exactly is included?
The embroidery only — the icon panel, cross or embroidered set, worked complete with the edges finished so it is ready to mount. Brocade, lining, galloon and the sewing itself are yours to supply, which is where the saving comes from.
Can you size a panel to a pattern I already use?
Yes. Send us the finished dimensions you are sewing to, and the pattern itself if you have it, and we will size the embroidery to suit rather than to our standard.
How much fabric will I need?
It depends on the piece and on the width of the brocade you have found. Tell us what you are making and what fabric you are buying, and we will tell you the yardage before you order — it is a common and easy mistake to get wrong.
Can I have old embroidery re-mounted onto new fabric?
Often, yes. Embroidered panels usually outlast the brocade under them by decades. Send us photos of the piece and we will tell you whether the embroidery is sound enough to lift and re-mount.
Is the embroidery the same as on your finished vestments?
Identical — the same threads, the same frames, the same hands. The only difference is that it has not been made up into a garment.
